Beautiful, hand-crafted portraits to treasure for a lifetime
A portrait is more than a picture – it's a way of celebrating the people and animals who mean the most to us.
Whether you're looking for a much-loved pet, a family member or a thoughtful gift, I'd be delighted to create a bespoke portrait that captures personality, expression and character.
Working from your favourite photographs, I create original portraits in graphite, pastel and acrylic. Every piece is individually hand drawn or painted with care, and I work closely with you throughout the process to ensure you're delighted with the finished artwork.
The Commission Process
1. Get in touch
Contact me by email, WhatsApp, phone or Facebook to discuss your ideas. There's no obligation, and I'm always happy to answer questions.
2. Send your photographs
Send me your favourite images. If you're unsure which to choose, I can help you select the best photograph or combine several photos into one composition.
3. Agree the details
We'll agree the composition, medium, size and price before any work begins.
4. Secure your booking
A 25% non-refundable deposit secures your commission, with the remaining balance payable before the completed artwork is delivered.
5. Creating your portrait
As your portrait nears completion, I'll send you a photograph so you can request any small adjustments before it's finished. I will send you a photograph of the final painting or drawing.
6. Delivery
Your completed portrait can be collected from Watford or carefully packaged for tracked and insured UK delivery.
Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for completion. If you need your portrait for a particular date, such as a birthday or anniversary, please let me know when you get in touch and I'll do my best to accommodate your deadline.

Prices shown are for one subject with a simple or softly painted background. Additional subjects, detailed backgrounds, unusual compositions and bespoke sizes can be quoted individually.
Frequently asked questions
Can you combine several photographs?
Yes. I can often combine several images to create the composition you have in mind.
What makes a good reference photograph?
Clear, well-lit photographs showing the face, eyes and natural colouring are best. I am happy to help you choose.
Can you work from older photographs?
Sometimes. Send me the photographs you have and I will let you know what is possible.
Can you paint people and pets together?
Yes. Portraits can include individuals, couples, families and pets.
I'm not sure which medium to choose. Can you help?
Absolutely! Each medium creates a different feel:

How long will my portrait take?
Most commissions take approximately 6–8 weeks.

Portrait commission gift vouchers are available and make a wonderful present for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirements and other special occasions.
The recipient can choose the medium, size and photographs at a later date, making it a truly personal gift.
